Child Abuse Prevention & Investigation #2105 (TCOLE)
This is the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) mandated Child Abuse Prevention & Investigation #2105 course offered in an online training course package format for Texas Peace Officers.
In order to successfully prosecute perpetrators of child abuse, it is critical that law enforcement officers and prosecutors have a basic awareness of child neglect and abuse. This course is an overview of child abuse and neglect, definitions, current statistics, possible causes, and some basic investigation techniques. Successful completion of this course will aid officers in recognizing signs of child abuse and neglect, and to perform the tasks necessary, when appropriate, to formulate an effective case that meets the probable cause elements.
